Understanding GMT and Converting Match Times
Many international websites and fixtures list show match times in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) or London time. This can confuse fans in other countries if they do not know how to convert the time correctly.
What is GMT?
GMT is the global reference time. In winter it is the same as London time. In summer the UK switches to British Summer Time (BST), which is one hour ahead.
Quick conversion table
| Country / Region | Add to GMT |
|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia & Gulf | +3 hours |
| Egypt | +2 hours |
| United Arab Emirates | +4 hours |
| Jordan & Lebanon (winter) | +2 hours |
| Morocco | +1 hour (approx.) |
| India | +5 hours 30 minutes |
| Pakistan | +5 hours |
Practical example
If a match kicks off at 19:30 GMT, the local time in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf will be 22:30, and in Egypt it will be 21:30.
Why IPTVBuddy uses GMT
Because a large part of our audience lives in different countries. Showing one consistent time makes comparison easier and reduces mistakes. Each fan can then simply add the correct number of hours for their location.
Tip: Save the conversion table in your phone notes so you do not have to look it up every time.
